Lago di Cavedine, Trentino - 5ha. under vine - Biodynamic viticulture 

Nestled to the north of Lake Garda, Lake Cavedine is part of the Valley of Lakes. This is where, for the last three generations, the Pedrotti family have been making wine. Across eight separate sites around the lake, they focus on two of the region’s most classical varieties, Nosiola and Schiava. Farming has always been minimal but, for Giuseppe, who took over from his father Gino, the move to biodynamics was a straightforward decision. The wines are a culmination of decades of knowledge working in the region and, as such, have evolved along their own path, depending on vineyard location and the grapes planted there. Long maceration on the whites is common, yet it is not really shown in the wines. Everything is done gently. The reds are treated with respect but will, at times, be picked at varying times to offer a more complete wine. Like the family, these are understated wines, a beautiful expression of Trentino.
