You'd be forgiven for not having heard of Petit Meslier as its extremly rare in the region. Its estimated that there are less than 4 hectares in total planted with this variety in the whole region. When it is used, it typically makes up just a few percent of the final blend so its very unusual to see a single variety wine. This historic variety has a very narrow harvest window which makes it challenging to work with. The wines it produces tend to have refreshing acidity and delicate herbal notes. One of the rarest cuvee's in the Horiot collection, from his single variety series, 100% Petit Meslier from a single terroir. Just one barrel made, zero dosage, only 660 bottles.
