One of the top white wines from Dirk Niepoort, arguably Portugals most influential winemaker. From a high altitude plot (600m) in the Douro, 60+ year old vines. The grapes spend some time in stainless steel and then oak before bottle. This has floral notes intertwined with fresh citrus, alongside hints of pineapple and discreet nutty tones of hazelnut. A light touch of buttery richness adds softness without overshadowing the wine’s natural freshness. The palate is elegant and finely balanced, with bright acidity bringing energy and definition to the fruit. Truly stunning stuff.
