With just a couple of hectares under vine, Lodovico works with whatever nature gives him, and Myr is a perfect example of that philosophy. Needing to fill a new 900-litre barrel, he blended red wine from the hot 2022 vintage with rosé from the cooler, wetter 2023 — a meeting of two years and two moods.

The base is around half Nebbiolo, while the other half comes from a dizzying array of local indigenous grapes, a reminder of the biodiversity still found in Alto Piemonte’s forgotten corners.

The result is fragrant and lifted, with bright red fruit, subtle floral tones, and a fine line of acidity. There’s an unusual energy here — part structure from the 2022 red, part freshness from the 2023 rosé.
