Compared to the Barbera d'Alba, this is more high toned, notes of damson and violets, deep purple fruit on the palate and a cooling finish. A really lovely example of this grape that is both a crowd pleaser and very appealing to those who know and love thier northern Italian reds. Its a wine that is only produced in good years, keeping true to the phrase Superiore. A selection of the best fruit from their two parcels, fermented in bins and then kept in Grande Botti for 18 months.
