Although it may not be that well known, in Mamoiada and also around the province of Olbia, Nebbiolo is quite a common site. Like Giovanni's Cannonau the Barrolu has a long maceration before ageing for a year in bottle. There is structure and depth, as you'd expect from Nebbiolo, but here it comes with the same herbal notes we find in his Cannonau. A unique expression and a sign of the terroir, perhaps. Only 700 bottles made.
