A cult classic from the wild limestone slopes of Les Baux, Trévallon Rouge is highly sought after and for good reason. This feels like top end Bordeaux but with the extra days of sunshine from being in the south. It really jumps out of the glass, this is powerful stuff, lots of dark berries, dried herbs, tobacco and leather. It's got some age on it but it is far from Old, thus it benefits from decanting and a bit of breathing time. This project started in the 70's when the rural south was thought to have little more than rustic country wines to offer. Along with a few legends from the Languedoc, Trevallon changed that perception but producing something that is truly world class.
