The wines from Domaine Charvin have a level of purity and elegance that you don't often find in the Southern Rhone. The wine is rich, full and powerful, as you'd expect, but there is vibrancy in the fruit and the tannins and kept in balance. There are some lovely leathery and spicy notes creeping in due to the bit of age here but it remains charming as ever, or perhaps making it more so, should we say.
