Château Peylaby is the project of Jérémy, who farms ten hectares of vines alongside 100 hectares of organic grain once tended by his grandfather. Peylaby is run with the same respect for the land as his work at Planquette, with organics and careful, unforced winemaking at the core. Together with his partner Blandine (formerly vineyard manager at Château Pichon Comtesse), Jérémy is part of a new wave keeping Bordeaux honest, accessible, and vibrant.
‘Cerf’ comes from three vineyard sites across the estate, vinified mostly in steel with a touch of concrete to preserve freshness. The 2022 shows bright, crunchy fruit — redcurrant, blackberry, and a touch of spice — with an energy that recalls Cabernet Franc, even though there’s none here. Supple and immediate, it’s a wine already drinking beautifully, with the charm and lift that makes it an easy companion at the table
