Its estimated that there are less than 4 hectares in total planted with this variety in the whole region. When it is used, it typically makes up just a few percent of the final blend so its very unusual to see a single variety wine. This historic variety has a very narrow harvest window which makes it challenging to work with. The wines it produces tend to have refreshing acidity and delicate herbal notes.
